About
Carlos Cano

Mr. Cano founded Cano Law LLC following almost twenty years of experience working in the global energy and construction industry, rising from an immigrant construction worker to senior corporate attorney and human resources leader, and having also worked for leading national and regional law firms representing companies and employers earlier in his career.  Mr. Cano now uses his wide range of corporate experience and inside industry knowledge to help people across Louisiana who are in need of an honest, qualified and passionate attorney to guide them, advise them and defend their rights.  If you need a dedicated attorney to help tell your story, you have come to the right place.

Mr. Cano has a long history of using his skills to help lend a voice to those who need it. As someone who started as a construction laborer working in refineries across the Gulf Coast, Mr. Cano understands firsthand what it's like to “work on your tools” and the challenges that workers face every day to provide for their families. Throughout his years in the energy and construction industry, Mr. Cano became known among Louisiana and Texas workers as the go-to person to help them find opportunities in that industry, help them resolve disputes or advocate for better workplace conditions. Over his career he also worked with companies to improve practices in the industry to benefit workers – including helping companies provide safer and more fair and inclusive workplaces for their employees.

While at Loyola College of Law, he distinguished himself as a board member and editor for the Loyola Law Review, which also published his article on immigration law: “Crimes Involving Moral Turpitude: A Call for Congressional Clarification and the Use of a False Social Security Number Exemption."  Mr. Cano was also a distinguished member of the Loyola Moot Court Program and had the honor of representing Loyola at the regional and international rounds of the 2014 Phillip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, competing against law schools from around the world and winning first place at the regional rounds.
